Brühler TV Crusaders (D) - BSW Weert (NL) 14 - 90 - winnaar Weert
De dag begint met een 0-22 run in het voordeel van Weert die qua fysiek kop en schouders boven onze Duitse collega's uitsteekt. Ook tijdens de tweede periode blijft de druk aanhouden met een paar scores van Brühler. Een minuutje voor het fluitsignaal komt een speler van Weert - Kaj Van Hoorn - zwaar ten val en wordt afgevoerd naar het hospitaal voor behandeling.
At the start of the day, Weert is making a 0-22 run. The team is fysically way stronger than Germany. During the second periode the pressure applied by Weert continues to cause heavy dammages. Brühler scores a few times. One minute before the half game one of the players from Weert - Kaj Van Hoorn - makes a heavy fall, causing the player to be carried to the hospital for treatment.
Game 2 - 2de wedstrijd - 10u00
Eiffel Towers Den Bosch (NL) - SG Fortitudo Bologna (I) 32 - 20 - winnaar Den Bosch
Een wedstrijd waarbij de Italiaanse ploeg wat kleiner is van gestalte maar wel technisch goed en vrij snel. Eiffel Towers is fysiek krachtiger en heeft vooral een voordeel in gestalte. Bologna verdedigd goed en pareert nogal wat shots, toch is het overwicht duidelijk voor de Nederlanders uit Den Bosch.
A game where the Italian team has a number of players that are a bit 'shorter' but technically strong and fast. Eiffel Towers has clearly an advantage of 'size' and fysical strenght. Bologna is playing a good defensive strategy keeping the scores down, however the game is very much leaning to the advantage of the Dutch competitors from Den Bosch.
Commentaar van een toeschouwer - contrast tussen stijl van coachen, de nederlandse ploeg had niet echt het volledige overwicht ondankt de grotere gestalte. De nederlandse rotatie was beter, idem dito voor het creëren van 'open space'. De Italianen hadden alle spelers op gelijk fysiek niveau.
Comments from a spectator - there was a clear difference in coaching style, the Dutch team had not really full control even with the much taller players. The rotation in the Dutch team was better as well as the creation of the 'open shot'. The Italian players where nearly all on the same fysical level.
Game 3 - 3de wedstrijd - 11u00
Brühler TV Crusaders (D) - Plymouth Marjon Raiders (UK) 12 - 50 - winnaar Plymouth Raiders
Duitsland begint de wedstrijd vrij zwak. Engeland gaat de wedstrijd leiden en geeft dit niet meer af.
Germany comes out too weak for the competitor. The UK leads from the start and wins the game easily.
Game 4 - 4de wedstrijd - 12u00
Eiffel Towers Den Bosch (NL) - AS Soleuvre (L) 46 - winnaar Eiffel Towers
Weerom een sterk presterende Nederlandse ploeg. De gemoederen raken een beetje verhit na een vermeende elleboogstoot die een speler van Soleuvre volledig buiten strijd zet. Jammer. Soleuvre biedt erg veel weerstand en zit beter in de wedstrijd naarmate de tijd vordert.
Once again a strong competitive Dutch team. The temperature is raising after an 'elbow' to a Soleuvre player taking him completely out of the game. Too Bad. Soleuvre is coming into the game more and more resisting the pressure from the Dutch team.
Game 5 - 5de wedstrijd - 13u00
Stella Artois Leuven Bears (B) - BSW Weert (NL) 34 - 41 - winnaar Weert
Een wedstrijd met twee sterk spelende en verdedigende teams. Uiteindelijk is het het fysieke overwicht dat het haalt.
A game between two strong playing teams ... finally it appears the fysical condition that makes the difference.
Game 6 - 6de wedstrijd - 14u00
Dexia Mons-Hainaut (B) - SG Fortitudo Bologna (I) 40 - 30 - winnaar Mons Hainaut
Een 'heftige' wedstrijd met heel wat interventies. De coach van Mons wordt met twee technische fouten weggestuurd. Op de helft staat het 25 - 25 en wordt het heel warm in de zaal. De coach van de Italiaanse ploeg vuurt zijn spelers onverdroten aan, maar wanneer scheidsrechterbeslissingen worden aangevochten wordt het te veel en krijgt ook de coach van Bologna zijn 'technische'. Op 10 sec van het matcheinde wordt de wedstrijd afgeblazen op grond van heftige en aanhoudende reacties van de Italiaanse coach.
Very hefty and quite some interventions from the referees are required. The coach from the Mons-Hainaut team has to leave coaching to his assistant after receiving his second technical faul. The 'spirits' are getting heated. The Italian coach is loudly encouraging his team but when a few decisions from the referees are critisized it results also in a Technical faul for the coach. With 10 sec to go, the game is stopped based on continued reactions from the side of the Italian coach and assistant coach.

Stella Artois Leuven Bears (B) - Brühler TV Crusaders (D) 75 - 15 - winnaar Leuven Bears
Ook in deze wedstrijd blijkt een nogal groot overwicht van Leuven. Onze Duitse tegenstander is er duidelijk geen partij voor maar weert zich uitstekend.
Also in this game the difference between the teams is very large. Our German competitor is clearly not up to the Leuven Bears team but nevertheless is playing in a very courageous way.
Game 8 - 8ste wedstrijd - 16u00
Dexia Mons-Hainaut (B) - Eiffel Towers Den Bosch (NL) 48 - 28 - winnaar Mons-Hainaut
Na 2 kwarten is het duidelijk dat Mons-Hainaut niet onder de indruk is van de gemiddelde gestalte van de spelers. Zij spelen technisch zeer sterk en snel basketbal en dat merk je aan de scores. Eiffel Towers ligt erg onder.
After two quarters the Mons-Hainaut team shows it is absolutely not impressed by the average size of the Dutch players. They compeet demonstrating a technically strong and fast basketball which translates itself into the scores. Eiffel Towers is clearly not the stronger on the court.

BSW Weert (NL) - Plymouth Marjon Raiders (UK) 55 - 28 - winnaar Weert
Bij de start gaat het wat langzamer maar eens de locomotief onder stoom komt is ie niet zo makkelijk te stoppen... we lopen ondertussen ongeveer 1u achter op schema.
At the outset of the game it all goes a bit slower, however, once the freighttrain steams forward it is not so easy to stop ... timing is getting stretched, currently we are running about 1hr behind schedule.
Game 10 - 10de wedstrijd - 18u00
SG Fortitudo Bologna (I) - AS Soleuvre (L) 40 - 38 - winnaar Bologna
Bologna en Soleuvre zijn aan elkaar gewaagd tijdens de ganse wedstrijd. Bologna haalt het nipt met enkele vrijworpen in de laatste minuut van de wedstrijd.
Until the end of the third quarter, both Bologna and Soleuvre are equivalent in strenght during the entire game. In the last minute Bologna wins the game on free throws.
